The Directorate of Cabinet, Political, and Special Services is an esteemed division within the Governor’s Office, operating under the purview of the Secretary to the State Government. Strategically situated in the heart of Benin City, the Directorate plays a pivotal role in the governance structure. Since its establishment in the year 2000, a distinguished lineage of Permanent Secretaries has diligently served in this prestigious Directorate, upholding its mission with utmost professionalism and commitment.

Our Objectives

The key objectives of the Edo State Directorate
of Cabinet, Political, and Special Services include:

Providing strategic advice and support to government officials to facilitate informed decision-making.

Coordinating cabinet affairs, political strategies, and specialized services to ensure alignment with government priorities.

Enhancing collaboration and communication among government agencies to promote synergy and efficiency.

Promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance through open dialogue and engagement.

Ensuring the effective implementation of policies and initiatives that address key challenges and priorities identified within Edo State.

Functions

As a pivotal arm of the Edo State government, our Directorate
is entrusted with a wide range of functions, including:

Advising on cabinet affairs, political strategies, and specialized services to provide timely and relevant guidance to government officials.

Formulating and implementing policies and initiatives to address pressing issues and advance the socio-economic development of Edo State.

Monitoring and evaluating the performance of government programs and projects to ensure accountability and effectiveness.

Facilitating intergovernmental cooperation and partnerships to leverage resources and expertise for the benefit of our citizens.

Engaging with stakeholders, including citizens, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to foster collaboration, gather feedback, and promote inclusive decision-making.

What We Do
